Harald Hofmann

Idea of my work
The title “Questions of an existence – Befragungen einer Existenz” and a quotation from F. Schlegel about fragments in the beginning comprise the concept of this movie.

Without a narrative structure, the film is based on an idea of a sequence of individual associations realized as a series of separate images. This is one reason why this film has no end and continues in many episodes.

The formal realization is reminiscent of a mixture of slow motion, stop motion and animated film. All of the shots are completely structured in a black-and-white aesthetic. This film was produced as a project funded by the Ministry of Culture NRW in Germany in 2021.
